About Us

Personalized, in-home pet care is a valuable and convenient service. Your cats, dogs, and small pets are able to stay on their regular schedules and enjoy the comfort of their own home. Both you and your pets will have a stress free experience without having to transport your pets to a kennel or boarding facility, avoiding potential pet skirmishes and diseases. You will also have peace of mind knowing your home and pets are in the hands of an insured and bonded pet care professional. You'll return to happy and healthy pets when they receive lots of love and attention while you're away. All services are customized to meet the specific needs of you and your pets.

We utilize pet sitting software, Time To Pet, which allows us to sends instant updates to you via email or App messenger at the end of each visit. Our visit reports include pet pictures and are time stamped with GPS location to assure you that your babies are being well taken care of. Clients have access to their our secure and encrypted client portal where they can view and update personal, home, and pet information so that we have up-to-date information. You can also request services, view open invoices, and much more!

Creature Connections was established in 2008 and has been thriving ever since!

 

On September 1st, 2022, I celebrate 14 years of owning Creature Connections! I'm not sure where the time has gone but what an adventure it has been!!!

I started out as a young 20 something, with no business background, a vet tech degree with a few years of practice under my belt, and a passion for providing excellent care and customer service to our clients.

​

I have learned and grown over the years. Formed amazing relationships with clients and pet sitters. And have lost sleep many nights questioning business decisions and doubting myself.

​

The last three years were by far the most challenging but have turned out to be the most rewarding.

​

Not many people were aware but I was ready to sell and move on a year after covid hit. Business was at a all time low, lost all pet sitters; which was completely understandable with how things were at the time, and I wanted a new adventure.

​

I tinkered with the idea of just shutting down and interviewed for a few other positions but nothing was panning out. I ended up putting the business up for sale and a few offers came in but something just wasn't sitting right in my gut. After the third offer, I pull it off the market and focused on diving into the company.

​

Then a year ago I got a call that changed everything.

​

I was offered to take over another established pet sitting business in the area and I went for it. I merged their clients and pet sitters into Creature Connections and ever since then I have pushed myself to try harder, improve, and change things to make the company what I have always thought it could be.

​

I am sincerely grateful to all our clients and absolutely amazing pet sitters. With out them none of this would be possible!!

I am also in debit to my husband for always supporting me and pushing me to step out of my comfort zone and take those chances. Also a shout out to all my family and friends who have cheered me on over the years.

Our History

Dog and Cat Care:

We provide visits in your home between the hours of  6 a.m. - 8 p.m., seven days a week, 365 days a year.

​

For dogs these visits include maintaining your dog's daily feeding and bathroom schedule via walks or yard time, administering medications if necessary, and plenty of exercise and attention.

​

Cats enjoy the comfort and security of their own home. Visits include feeding and refreshing water, waste removal/litter box cleanup, administration of medications if necessary and lots of love and attention.

​

Pet Sitting Rates

  • $16 per 15-minute visit (shy cats and small critter care)

  • $24 per 30-minute visit (standard visit)

  • $29 per 45-minute visit

  • $36 per 60-minute visit (limited availability)

​

Daily Dog Walks or Regular Weekly Scheduled Visits (available when walks are scheduled and paid monthly):

Just like people, dogs greatly benefit from regular exercise. Walking provides both physical and mental stimulation. Dogs experience new smells and sounds while reaping the benefits of exercise. Depending on availability midday walks are offered Monday-Friday between the hours for 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.

 

  • $24 per 30-minute walk for 1–3 walks per week

  • $22 per 30-minute walk for 4 or more walks per week

  • $16 per 15-minute visits (Ideal for puppies or elderly dogs who just need a quick break)

Small Pets & Special Needs

Creature Connections is happy to take care of your small pets such as rabbits, ferrets, birds, and reptiles, which often have specialized needs. Depending on the details of your caged animals care, we do offer a 15-minute drop-in care visits.

We have a handful of Veterinary Technicians on staff who are trained for those pets who need insulin injections, subcutaneous fluids, or any other special needs. Please fill free to contact us to discuss your pets specific needs.

Overnight Stays

We have a handful of pet sitters who provide overnight stays at your home. They stay for a 12 hour time frame from 6-7pm to 6-7am and provide care to your pets usually morning and evening routines. We are able to add on midday visits at an additional charge. 

  • $85 for each Overnight Stay

Additional Services

Home care services are FREE of charge and can be included with any scheduled pet care visits! Home care can include any of the following services to give your home a lived in look while you're out of town to help deter crime and give you the peace of mind you need while enjoying a vacation or weekend getaway:

  • Postal mail and Newspaper retrieval

  • Bringing in packages

  • Rotation of indoor/outdoor lights and window coverings

  • Watering plants (additional charges may apply depending if additional time is needed)

  • Trash removal

  • Fish Feeding

​

Additional Services and their associated fees:

  • $10 per sitter “Meet & Greet” for current clients, if needed

  • $15 Yard clean-up (excrement pick-up) during a scheduled visit

  • $15 Shopping fee for food, litter, or other necessary items (plus reimbursement)

  • $20 Lockbox (if needed)

  • $20 Late payment fee (applies if payment is not received after 5-day grace period)

  • $25 Subcutaneous fluid administration per visit

  • $40 Veterinary clinic visit (plus reimbursement of vet bill)

Holidays​

We have wonderful pet sitters who graciously give their time on Holidays to care for our client's pets. We do charge extra on Holidays and that extra goes directly to the pet sitter providing care for your pets.

​

Holiday Service Charges:

  • $7 per visit on holidays*

  • $10 per visit on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day

  • $20 per Overnight Stay on any Holiday

*Holidays include: Easter Sunday, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Independence Day (July 4), New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day

Additional Information

​

Payments

  • A 50% Booking Deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due on the last day of your scheduled services, or by the end of each month for recurring midday clients.

  • A 5-day grace period is provided for all invoices.

  • Payments not received after the 5-day grace period will incur a $20 late fee.

  • Returned checks also incur a $20 fee.

  • Future services may be paused until the account is current.

  • Invoices may be paid in full at any time prior to the due date.

Vacation Travel Visits:

  • Booking Deposit: A 50% deposit is required to book all non-holiday vacation or travel visits. This deposit is applied to your total invoice.

  • Cancelation Policy:

    •  48+ hours before the first visit → no charge, and the deposit will be credited to your account to use towards future visits.

    • Cancel under 48 hours → 50% of the schedule service fee is charged. This fee reflects both your pet sitter’s reserved time and the administrative time required to coordinate your services.

  • Early Returns / Mid-Trip Changes:

    • Once services have begun, all remaining scheduled visits are charged in full. This policy is in place since your pet sitter has reserved their time exclusively for your booking and that administrative time has been dedicated to coordinating and managing your services, making it difficult to refill those dates on short notice.

Overnight Stays and Holiday bookings:

Overnight stays and holiday bookings require sitters to reserve large blocks of their time—often giving up personal plans or turning down other clients. Because these dates are in high demand and nearly impossible to refill on short notice, the following cancellation policy ensures fairness to both our sitters and our clients.

 

Booking Deposit: A 50% deposit is required for all overnight stays and any booking that includes a holiday itself and up to two days before or after the Holiday. This deposit is applied to your total invoice.

Holiday Dates:

Holiday policies apply to services on the Holiday itself and up to two days before or after. Holiday list reflects peak demand periods. These include:

New Year’s Eve/Day, Easter Weekend, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Week, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

 

Cancellation Schedule for Overnight Stays and Holiday Bookings:

30+ Days Before First Visit:

  • Deposit is refundable or may be applied as a credit towards future visits

15–29 Days Before First Visit:

  • 50% of the deposit is refundable or may be applied as a credit towards future visits

7-14 Days Before First visit:

  • Deposit non-refundable

0–6 Days Before First Visit:

  • Deposit is non-refundable

  • Full amount of invoice Due

Early Returns and Mid-Trip Changes:

Once Overnight or Holiday services have begun, all remaining scheduled visits are non-refundable.

This policy reflects the fact that your sitter has reserved their time exclusively for your booking and that administrative time has been dedicated to coordinating and managing your services, making it difficult to refill those dates on short notice.

 

Illness and Family/Emergency Changes:

We understand that unexpected situations can arise. Clients may request changes to reservations due to illness, injury, hospitalization, or urgent caregiving responsibilities for immediate household members.

·Standard cancellation fees still apply to protect our sitters’ time and planning.

·In extraordinary circumstances, we may consider reducing or waiving fees if notice is provided as soon as possible.

 

Rescheduling:

Rescheduling requests will be accommodated whenever possible. However, because sitters reserve their availability specifically for your booking, the following applies:

A reschedule is NOT considered a cancellation if:

  • We are available for all the new dates you request, and

  • The entire booking can be moved in full (same number of days/visits or longer).

In this case, your reservation simply shifts to the new dates with no cancellation fees.

 

Regularly Scheduled Midday Dog Walks:

 For clients on a recurring weekly schedule, services will be scheduled toward the end of each month for the upcoming month. Payment is due on the last day of each month, with a 5-day grace period. Regularly scheduled midday walks are not provided on major holidays; if service is needed on a holiday, please contact the office to check availability and rates.  

 

Cancellations:

  • Cancel before 8:00 a.m. → No charge/full credit

  • Cancel after 8:00 a.m. → visit is charged at full rate

  • Prepaid clients receive credits on the next invoice

 

Home Access and Keys:

  • For reliable access, we prefer two access points (e.g., front door, garage).

  • A physical key is highly recommended even if you use door codes or garage openers. This ensures access during:

    • Power outages

    • Dead batteries in electronic locks or garage openers

    • Any other unexpected technology failures

  • A lockbox at your home is strongly preferred, as it provides secure, convenient access for our sitters.

  • If a lockbox is not available, a hidden key may be used as an alternative.

 

Locksmith Policy:

To ensure the safety and care of your pets, clients must provide reliable home access via a working key, lockbox, or verified codes with two points of access.

  • If a sitter cannot access your home due to a lock or key issue, the client is fully responsible for all locksmith or repair costs incurred.

  • Clients authorize Creature Connections to contact a locksmith or other access service immediately if a sitter cannot enter, without further approval.

  • Costs will be added to your invoice and are due immediately.

  • Repeated access issues may result in suspension of services until reliable access is provided.

  • Clients are encouraged to notify Creature Connections of any changes to locks, codes, or keys in advance to avoid service disruptions.

 

Job Sharing/Additional Home Visitors:

Please notify us of anyone else who will enter your home during our services. For safety, liability, and insurance purposes, only Creature Connections’ approved sitters should provide pet care or access your home.

Creature Connections is not responsible for incidents, injuries, or outcomes that occur when care duties are shared with neighbors, friends, or family without our knowledge. In such cases, our insurance and bonding coverage would not apply.

 

Return Home Notification:

Please message us through the portal when you return home.

If we do not hear from you, visits will continue to ensure pet safety, and normal visit fees will apply.

 

Supplies and Veterinary Care:

If additional supplies are needed (food, litter, etc.), costs will be added to your invoice plus a $15 shopping/transport fee.

  • Please complete our Emergency Vet Care Form. We will attempt to contact you before seeking veterinary care unless immediate treatment is necessary.

  • Clients are responsible for all veterinary fees and sitter’s additional time.

 

Emergencies, Backup Sitters, and Weather:

Creature Connections may assign a fully vetted backup sitter if the primary sitter has an emergency.

  • During severe weather, sitters will use best judgment to provide safe, reasonable care.

  • Creature Connections is not responsible for delays or outcomes beyond our control.

 

Pet Requirements:

Pets must be healthy and free from transmissible diseases. Vaccination status is not required for vacation visits but is strongly recommended.

  • Clients are responsible for any costs or consequences if a sitter is injured or becomes ill due to an aggressive or unhealthy pet.

  • Identification tags are recommended, especially for dogs with dog door access or who are walked, but are not required as they can pose choking hazards.

  • Creature Connections is not responsible for pets who escape due to being left outdoors unattended.

  • If a pet escapes, we will notify local shelters and animal control and make reasonable efforts to locate them.

  • Pets should be socialized and manageable to ensure the safety of sitters, other pets, and themselves

 

Non-Payment:

Unpaid accounts may be sent to collections after reasonable attempts to contact the client.

Interest may accrue at 20% annually, and clients are responsible for all collection-related fees.

No future services will be provided until the account is paid in full.
